Canada’s Express Entry system continues to evolve, and if you’re tracking your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score or preparing to apply, it’s important to understand how the candidate pool is shifting. In the first two weeks of November 2025, we saw some noticeable changes in the Express Entry pool—especially in how competitive it’s becoming at the higher CRS ranges.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s happening in the pool, how your score might compare, and what recent draw trends could mean for your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Current Express Entry Pool Composition (as of November 9, 2025)

Between October 26 and November 9, 2025, the Express Entry pool decreased in size by 2,547 candidate profiles. The most noticeable drop occurred in the CRS score range of 411 to 430, with over 3,200 profiles exiting this band. This could be due to recent draws selecting candidates in that range or individuals updating their profiles or becoming ineligible.

Interestingly, while the overall number of profiles dropped, the number of candidates in the top two CRS bands surged. The 501–600 range grew by 417 candidates, and the 601–1,200 group—primarily made up of Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants—more than doubled, jumping from 306 to 696 profiles. This shift shows that more high-scoring candidates are entering the pool, increasing the competition for ITAs.

CRS score distribution in Express Entry pool as of November 9, 2025

Here’s a snapshot of some key changes in CRS score groups from October 26 to November 9:

  • 411–420: Dropped by 1,106 profiles
  • 421–430: Decreased by 2,122 profiles
  • 501–600: Increased by 417 profiles
  • 601–1,200: Increased by 390 profiles

These numbers suggest that while there may be fewer candidates overall, the pool is becoming more competitive as higher-scoring applicants continue to enter.
