Job Overview: What You’ll Be Doing

This role is a great fit for individuals who enjoy physically active work in a rural setting. You’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks across the farm, including the care, harvesting, and processing of organic produce. Here’s a snapshot of what your day-to-day may look like:

  • Picking and packing fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Sorting and cleaning produce for delivery
  • Planting, irrigating, and cultivating crops
  • Fertilizing and spraying as needed (using organic methods)
  • Weeding and maintaining crop beds
  • Harvesting row and orchard crops
  • Operating and maintaining farming equipment and machinery
  • Loading and unloading crates, supplies, and farm products

This is a hands-on role that requires both physical strength and attention to detail. You’ll be on your feet most of the day, often in varied weather conditions. But if you enjoy working outside, staying active, and contributing to a local food system, it’s a rewarding position.

  • Experience in farming or agricultural labour is an asset but not a requirement

Work Environment & Conditions

This role is based in a rural farming area, so it’s ideal for someone who enjoys small-town life or doesn’t mind a commute. You’ll spend most of your time outdoors, and the job can be physically demanding. Here’s what to expect:

  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions (rain, heat, wind, etc.)
  • Environments that may be dirty, dusty, or damp
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting throughout the day
  • Repetitive tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and dexterity
  • Working under tight timelines to ensure produce is harvested and packed on time
