New Brunswick PNP Issues Over 1,000 Invitations in August 2025 Draws
If you’ve been eyeing New Brunswick as your future home in Canada, August 2025 brought some exciting activity! Between August 11 and 19, the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP) held four immigration draws, inviting a total of 1,052 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence.
These invitations were issued under both the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream and the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream, offering opportunities to a wide range of skilled individuals already working or studying in the province — and even those in the federal Express Entry pool.
Key Highlights
- New Brunswick invited 1,052 candidates between August 11–19, 2025.
- 1,002 invitations were issued under the Skilled Worker Stream.
- 50 invitations were issued under the Express Entry Stream.
- Draws targeted healthcare, construction trades, education, and Francophone workers, among others.
- Some NOC occupations were excluded from eligibility in certain draws.
- New Brunswick’s total 2025 invitation count has reached 3,067 to date.
New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream: August 2025 Draws
The NB PNP hosted three separate draws under its Skilled Worker Stream during the mid-August period. Altogether, these draws issued 1,002 invitations to apply for provincial nomination. Here’s how the numbers break down:
Pathway | Invitations Issued | Occupational Categories |
---|---|---|
New Brunswick Experience | 481 | Healthcare, Education & Social Services (excluding NOC 42201, 75101), and Construction Trades |
New Brunswick Graduates | 389 | All sectors (excluding NOC 42201, 62200, and 75101) |
New Brunswick Experience (Francophone Candidates) | 132 | All sectors (excluding NOC 42201, 62200, and 75101) |
All three draws had a cut-off date of August 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. AST. While the province didn’t announce specific cut-off scores, eligibility was clearly aligned with priority occupations and provincial needs.
Occupations Not Considered
Some roles were excluded across the draws:
- NOC 42201: Social and community service workers
- NOC 62200: Chefs
- NOC 75101: Material handlers
Updated Skilled Worker Pathways
The Skilled Worker Stream has seen some updates in recent years. It now includes three main pathways:
- New Brunswick Experience – for individuals already working in the province.
- New Brunswick Graduates – designed for international graduates from New Brunswick institutions.
- New Brunswick Priority Occupations – targeting in-demand roles that support provincial labour needs.
New Brunswick Express Entry Stream: August 2025 Draw
In addition to the Skilled Worker draws, New Brunswick also issued 50 invitations under its Express Entry Stream. This stream is linked to the federal Express Entry system and is ideal for candidates who’ve already expressed interest in settling in New Brunswick.
Employment in New Brunswick Pathway
All 50 invitations were issued through the Employment in New Brunswick pathway. To be eligible, candidates needed to meet the following requirements:
- Be working full-time for a New Brunswick employer in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation;
- Have held the job for at least 12 months;
- Have lived in New Brunswick for the past year.
Just like the Skilled Worker draws, this draw also had a cut-off date of August 10, 2025. And again, no minimum score was released.
Excluded Occupations
Candidates in the following fields were not considered for the Express Entry draw:
- NOC 42201 – Social and community service workers
- NOC 62200 – Chefs
Total Invitations So Far in 2025
New Brunswick has been quite active in 2025 when it comes to immigration. As of now, the province has issued a total of 3,067 invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
Earlier in the year, the federal government allocated 1,500 nomination spots to New Brunswick. Then, in June, the province successfully negotiated an additional 1,500 nominations, bringing the total allocation to 3,000 nominations for the year.
It’s worth noting that the number of invitations issued is typically higher than the number of nominations available. This is because not all invited candidates end up applying or qualifying — some may withdraw, decline, or no longer meet eligibility requirements.
