What This Role Involves
As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Nursing Care, you’ll play a key role in delivering compassionate support to patients across various care settings. From helping with daily routines to providing essential nursing tasks, this is a role that truly makes a difference.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Transport patients between care facilities and accompany them on outdoor outings
- Serve meals, help with feeding, and monitor nutritional intake
- Check vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Provide bedside care, wound and bandage management, and pre- and post-operative support
- Help reposition and lift patients for comfort and safety
- Maintain patient rooms and make beds
- Respond to call bells and assess patient needs promptly
- Offer basic first aid and alternative health care when necessary
- Oversee patients’ physical activity and exercise routines
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a team-based environment and is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care.
What You’ll Need to Qualify
We’re looking for someone who not only has the right certifications but also brings empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills to the table.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Fluent in English
- First Aid Certificate and Nursing Aide Certificate
- At least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare or personal support role
- Certificate or diploma in a related trade or care field

- Frequent repetitive tasks and manual dexterity required
- Good visual and auditory sensory perception essential
- Expect to be on your feet and physically active—standing, walking, lifting, and repositioning patients
