How This Calculator Works
Step 1 — Experience & Education: Enter your years of directly related work experience, whether you have Canadian or BC experience, your education level, and any professional designation recognized in BC.
Step 2 — Language Proficiency: Enter your CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) score for each of the four skills. Not sure of your CLB? Convert your IELTS or CELPIP score here.
Step 3 — Job Offer Details: Enter your BC employer's offered wage (CAD/hour) and the location of the job. Regional areas outside Metro Vancouver score higher.
Your SIRS registration score is calculated instantly on the results page. You can compare it against recent BC PNP draw cutoffs.
What Is the BC PNP Skills Immigration Program?
The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) Skills Immigration stream uses a points-based
registration system called SIRS — Skills Immigration Registration System.
Rather than reviewing applications one by one, BC PNP scores candidates on a grid
and issues invitations bi-weekly to the highest-scoring registrants in each category.
In 2026, the key SIRS scoring factors are: your job offer wage relative to the BC
median wage for your occupation, your education level, years of directly related
work experience, language proficiency (CLB), whether your work or study was in BC or
Canada, and whether your job is in a regional area (outside Metro Vancouver).
BC education and Canadian work experience add meaningful bonus points — which is why
international graduates studying in BC often score competitively.
Typical competitive scores in 2026 range from 60–90 for general Skilled Worker
draws and 95–115 for Healthcare Professional targeted draws. Regional
draws for areas outside Metro Vancouver often invite at lower thresholds.
Once you calculate your score, use this guide to understand your position and next steps.
Under 60 — Build Your Profile
Your score is below typical draw cutoffs. Focus on gaining Canadian or BC work experience, improving language scores (CLB 7+ adds significant points), or seeking a BC employer in a regional area. Consider other PNP streams or CRS improvements.
60–90 — Competitive Range
You are in the range where many general Skilled Worker draws occur. Create your SIRS registration and monitor bi-weekly draws. Improving one or two factors (e.g. wage, regional experience) could push you above the cutoff. Also check your CRS score.
90+ — Strong Candidate
Scores above 90 are highly competitive in most BC PNP draw categories, including Healthcare. Register with SIRS immediately and expect an invitation within 1–3 draws. You should also confirm your Express Entry CRS score to maximize federal pathway options.
How to Improve Your BC PNP Score in 2026
Negotiate a higher wage: Your wage relative to the BC median NOC wage is the single biggest scoring factor. Even a few dollars per hour above median can add 10–20 points.
Target a regional job offer: Jobs in regional BC (outside Metro Vancouver) earn extra SIRS points — and regional employers are often more open to sponsoring foreign workers.
Gain Canadian work experience: Any work experience in Canada in your occupation adds bonus points. If you are already in Canada, prioritize building at least 12 months of experience.
Improve language scores: CLB 7 or higher in all four skills is a strong baseline. Moving from CLB 5 to CLB 7 in reading and writing can add meaningful points. Use the CLB converter to check equivalency.
Complete BC education: A post-secondary credential from a BC institution adds a direct bonus. International students in BC should apply through the International Graduate stream after graduation.
Get your professional designation: If your occupation is regulated in BC, obtaining licensure from the BC regulatory body adds points and may open additional streams.
BC PNP issues invitations through SIRS draws approximately every two weeks. In 2026, draws have continued to target:
General Skilled Worker and International Graduate candidates in high-demand NOCs
Healthcare professionals (nurses, medical technicians, pharmacists) in dedicated targeted draws
Workers in regional areas of BC with ongoing labour shortages
Invitation cutoffs vary by draw type — healthcare draws typically require higher scores (95–115) while general draws may invite at 60–90. Always check the most recent draw results on the official BCPNP website before registering.

Your BC PNP nomination adds 600 points to your Express Entry CRS score — check all your pathways:
Competitive scores depend on the draw type. General Skilled Worker draws have invited candidates with scores of 60–90. Healthcare targeted draws typically require 95–115. Regional draws may invite at lower thresholds. Monitor the official BC PNP draw history for the most current cutoffs.
How often does BC PNP issue invitations?
BC PNP typically draws bi-weekly through the SIRS system. Draws may be more or less frequent depending on the province's annual nomination allocation from the federal government.
Do I need a job offer for BC PNP Skills Immigration?
Yes. All Skills Immigration streams require a qualifying full-time, indeterminate job offer from a BC employer. The wage offered and area of employment are critical scoring factors in SIRS.
What happens after I get a BC PNP nomination?
A BC PNP nomination adds 600 points to your Express Entry CRS score, virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the next federal draw. You can also apply outside Express Entry through the non-Express Entry stream, though processing takes longer.
